The Persimmon Tree’s Jasmine Ancient Beauty is a unique offering. Instead of being paired with a light green tea, the jasmine pairs well with the robust, dark oolong tea leaves in this blend. The result is a smooth, full-bodied tea which is quite pleasant to drink.

A tea oddity, Aroma Tea Shop’s Blue People Oolong resembles green pebbles more than tea due to its curious preparation. The flavor in this tea is strong and intense – the tea shop describes it as a “party in your mouth!” Despite giving the tea the benefit of the doubt, this reviewer did not find it so…

Even as the weather changes, the evenings here are quite chilly. A warming cup of oolong is exactly the right fit for a slow evening at home. Teavivre’s Tie Guan Yin tea is an excellent accompaniment to any evening. The flavors are full and rich, making a very satisfying cup of tea that lasts for multiple steeps.

I’ve had a sample of this oolong tea that I purchased from Life in Teacup sitting in the tea cupboard for a while, waiting for a quiet night. Well that night finally came, and I have to say — this tea is incredible! It’s well-flavored and packs an intense aroma with the charcoal roast and succulent florals and fruits. To boot, it’s well-priced. I’ve reviewed multiple oolong teas on the site so far, and this Tie Guan Yin has got to be one of the best.

As I posted earlier, I recently received a wonderful oolong tea gift from China. After trying this lightly oxidized oolong tea several times, I love it. I know for certain that this is one of the teas which we can and will drink everyday.
The biggest problem I forsee with this tea is how to get more from Shanghai. Full review and tasting notes follow below –
